Ingredients
- 2 large eggs
- water to taste
- salt to taste
- ground pepper to taste
- 2 slices whole-wheat bread toasted, for serving
Directions
- In a small saucepan over medium-high heat, add the eggs and enough of the water to cover them.
- Bring the water to a simmer.
- Transfer the saucepan from the heat and let it stand until the egg yolks are soft set, about 2-3 minutes.
- Transfer the eggs to egg cups or a small bowl.
- Tap the top of each egg with a spoon to crack the upper part of the shell and remove it.
- Season the eggs with the salt and the pepper.
- Serve the eggs with the toast.
