Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound chicken breasts thinly sliced
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
For the sauce:
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon sweet chili sauce
- 1 tablespoon ginger peeled and grated
- red pepper flakes dried, to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic minced
- juice of 1 lime
For the garnish:
- sesame seeds optional, to taste
- green onions optional, to taste, chopped
Directions
- Add the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Season the chicken with salt and pepper.
- Add the chicken to the skillet.
- Allow the chicken to cook until fully cooked through (reading 165 degrees F when checked with a meat thermometer), about 3 minutes on each side.
- Transfer the chicken from the skillet and set it aside.
- Whisk together the brown sugar, the soy sauce, the hoisin sauce, the sweet chili sauce, the ginger, the red pepper flakes, garlic, and the lime juice in the hot skillet.
- Allow the sauce to cook over medium heat until it thickens, about 1-2 minutes.
- When the sauce has thickened, place the chicken back into the skillet and coat thoroughly with the sauce.
- Garnish the chicken with the sesame seeds and green onions, and serve.
