Ingredients
For the garlic-butter:
- 1/2 cup butter softened
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
For the sandwiches:
- 12 ounces spaghetti
- 8 slices Texas toast
- 8 slices mozzarella cheese
- 1 1/3 cups spaghetti sauce homemade or store-bought
Directions
- In a bowl, add the butter, the minced garlic, the garlic powder, and the Italian seasoning and stir to combine.
- Set the garlic-butter aside.
- In a large pot of salted, boiling water, add the spaghetti and cook it to al dente, according to the package directions.
- Drain the spaghetti.
- Spread the garlic-butter on 1 side of each of the Texas toast slices.
- In a large pan over low heat, add 4 slices of the Texas toast, butter-side down. You may need to toast them in batches to avoid overcrowding.
- Place 1 slice of the mozzarella on each of the Texas toast slices in the pan.
- Evenly add the cooked spaghetti and the spaghetti sauce to each of the Texas Toast slices in the pan. Then, top each with 1 slice of the remaining mozzarella cheese.
- Close the sandwiches with the remaining slices of the Texas toast, butter-side up.
- Cover the pan with a lid and let the sandwiches cook until the cheese melts and the bottom slices brown, about 3-5 minutes.
- Flip the sandwiches and toast until the reverse side is browned, about 3 minutes.
- Transfer the sandwiches from the heat and let them rest for 1-3 minutes.
- Optionally slice and serve.
