Ingredients
- 3/4-1 pound ground beef or ground turkey
- 1 small onion chopped
- salt to taste
- black pepper to taste
- 1 (16-ounce) package frozen tater tots
- 1 (10.75-ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup undiluted
- 2/3 cup 2% milk or water
- 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- Grease a 2-quart baking dish.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the beef and the onion, while crumbling the meat, until the beef is no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
- Drain the fat from the skillet.
- Season the meat mixture with the salt and the pepper.
- Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish.
- Top the beef mixture with the tater tots.
- Combine the cream of mushroom soup and the milk.
- Pour the soup mixture over the tots.
- Sprinkle the tots with the cheese.
- Bake, uncovered, until the tots are heated through and the cheese is melty and bubbly, about 30-40 minutes.
