Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion chopped
- 1 bunch celery sliced
- 2 (14-ounce) cans Chinese vegetables drained
- 2 envelopes brown gravy mix
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- egg noodles or rice cooked and hot, for serving
- scallions to taste, for garnish
Directions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the beef and the onion, while crumbling the meat, until the beef is no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes. Drain the excess grease.
- Transfer the beef mixture to a 3-quart slow cooker.
- Stir the celery, the Chinese vegetables, the gravy mix, and the soy sauce into the beef mixture.
- Cover the slow cooker and cook the chow mein on low heat, stirring occasionally, until the celery is tender, about 4-5 hours.
- Serve the chow mein with the cooked noodles or rice and top with the scallions.
