No one else's version can compare to the way these plump shrimp taste wrapped in the sweet, tangy sauce. The tender broccoli adds a nice, refreshing bite to really balance out all the flavors. Ingredients

1 clove garlic grated
3 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons white vinegar
2 tablespoons sugar
1/3 cup ketchup
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 cup cornstarch
1 pound shrimp peeled and deveined, tails removed
kosher salt to taste
freshly ground black pepper to taste
vegetable oil to taste
1 large head broccoli cut into florets, steamed and warm, for serving
1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds for garnish

Directions

In a skillet over medium-low heat, combine the garlic, the soy sauce, the vinegar, the sugar, the ketchup, and the mustard.
Bring the sauce mixture to a boil, then turn off the heat.
In a shallow bowl, add the cornstarch.
In a medium bowl, add the shrimp and evenly season them with the salt and the pepper.
Dredge the seasoned shrimp in the cornstarch.
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the oil.
Add the seasoned shrimp to the heated oil in batches and cook until they reach an internal temperature of 145 degrees F and are golden.
Spoon the sauce over the cooked shrimp and stir-fry until they are slightly caramelized.
Evenly plate the warm broccoli and top with the cooked shrimp.
Serve the shrimp garnished with the sesame seeds.
