Ingredients
For the cocktail:
- 2 ounces whiskey or bourbon
- 1 ounce lemon juice
- 3/4 ounce simple syrup store-bought or homemade
- 1 egg white
- ice to taste
Optional garnishes:
- brandied cherry to taste
- Angostura bitters to taste
- lemon peel to taste
Directions
- Add the whiskey, the lemon juice, the simple syrup, and the egg white to a cocktail shaker.
- Shake the whiskey mixture until it is very emulsified.
- Add the ice and shake it again until it is very chilled, about 30 seconds.
- Double strain the mixture over more of the ice into a rocks glass.
- Add the brandied cherry, 1-2 dashes of the Angostura bitters, and the lemon peel and serve.
