Ingredients
- 2 pounds fresh bratwurst sausages
- 2 onions thinly sliced
- 1 cup butter
- 6 (12-ounce) cans beer
- 1 1/2 teaspoons ground black pepper
- 10 hoagie rolls
Directions
- Prick the bratwurst with a fork all over.
- Place the bratwurst in a large stock pot with the onions, the butter, and the beer.
- Place the pot over medium heat and allow the brat mixture to simmer until the brats are partially cooked, for about 15-20 minutes.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- Lightly grease the grill grates.
- Place the bratwursts on the grill and cook, turning occasionally, until browned evenly and cooked through, for about 10-14 minutes.
- Serve hot off the grill with the onions on the hoagie rolls.
