  • 2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 cup Italian-style breadcrumbs
  • 2 ounces onion soup mix
  • 1 (10.5-ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon onion powder
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 (12-ounce) package stuffing mix

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Add the ground beef, the breadcrumbs, the onion soup mix, and the cream of mushroom soup into a large mixing bowl and use your clean hands to mix it together well.
  • Pour the beef mixture into the prepared baking dish, pressing it down evenly.
  • Into a mixing bowl, add the ketchup, the Worcestershire sauce, the garlic powder, and the onion powder and stir well.
  • Pour the ketchup mixture on top of the beef mixture, spreading it out evenly.
  • Place the dish in the oven and bake the meatloaf for 30 minutes.
  • Pour the water and the butter into a large pot on the stove and bring to a boil.
  • Once the water is boiling, transfer the pot from the stove-top and add the stuffing mix to the water, stirring well.
  • Cover the pot and set aside.
  • Once the meatloaf layer has cooked for 30 minutes, transfer it from the oven.
  • Fluff the stuffing with a fork, then sprinkle it on top of the meatloaf.
