Ingredients
- 2 pounds lean ground beef
- 1 cup Italian-style breadcrumbs
- 2 ounces onion soup mix
- 1 (10.5-ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1/2 tablespoon onion powder
- 2 cups water
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 (12-ounce) package stuffing mix
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
- Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- Add the ground beef, the breadcrumbs, the onion soup mix, and the cream of mushroom soup into a large mixing bowl and use your clean hands to mix it together well.
- Pour the beef mixture into the prepared baking dish, pressing it down evenly.
- Into a mixing bowl, add the ketchup, the Worcestershire sauce, the garlic powder, and the onion powder and stir well.
- Pour the ketchup mixture on top of the beef mixture, spreading it out evenly.
- Place the dish in the oven and bake the meatloaf for 30 minutes.
- Pour the water and the butter into a large pot on the stove and bring to a boil.
- Once the water is boiling, transfer the pot from the stove-top and add the stuffing mix to the water, stirring well.
- Cover the pot and set aside.
- Once the meatloaf layer has cooked for 30 minutes, transfer it from the oven.
- Fluff the stuffing with a fork, then sprinkle it on top of the meatloaf.
- Return the dish to the oven and bake until golden brown on top, about 15 minutes.
- Let the dish stand for 3-5 minutes.
