Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 (15-ounce) can pizza sauce
  • 1 (4-ounce) can sliced mushrooms drained
  • 1/4 cup ripe olives sliced and pitted
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 1 (10-ounce) can refrigerated biscuit dough

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the beef to the skillet and cook, while crumbling, until it is browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain the excess grease from the skillet.
  • Add the pizza sauce, the mushrooms, and the olives to the beef and cook, while stirring, until heated through, about 2 minutes.
  • Transfer the beef mixture to a rectangular 2-quart baking dish, then sprinkle with the mozzarella cheese.
  • Arrange the biscuits on top of the cheese.
  • Bake the casserole until the biscuits are golden, about 15-17 minutes. Switch the oven to broil to allow the biscuits to finish baking if they don't brown enough during the allotted baking time.
  • Serve.
