Ingredients
- 1 pound ground chuck or ground turkey
- 1 envelope chili seasoning
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup onion minced
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- hot sauce or Worcestershire sauce to taste
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
- hot dogs to taste, cooked, for serving
- hot dog buns to taste, for serving
Directions
- Add the ground chuck to the skillet over medium heat and cook until it is no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes. Drain the excess grease.
- Add the chili seasoning and the water to the meat, bring it to a simmer, and cook until it thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
- Use a fork to break up any large chunks of the meat.
- Add the ketchup, the onion, and the sugar to the meat and cook, while stirring, until the meat is tender, about 10 minutes.
- Add the hot sauce, the salt, and the pepper to the meat mixture and stir to combine.
- Place the hot dogs on the buns.
- Pour the chili over the hot dogs.
- Serve.
