Ingredients
For the brownies:
- 1 cup plus 3 tablespoons butter cubed
- 3/4 cup baking cocoa
- 4 large eggs room temperature
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

- 6 tablespoons butter softened
- 2 2/3 cups confectioners' sugar
- 1/2 cup baking cocoa

- 1/4 cup milk 2%, plus more as needed
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
- In a saucepan, melt 1 cup plus 3 tablespoons of butter.
- Transfer the saucepan from the heat.
- Stir in 3/4 cup cocoa and allow the mixture to cool.
- In a large bowl, beat the eggs and sugar until blended.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the egg mixture.
- Stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla and the cooled chocolate mixture until well blended.
- Spread the batter into the prepared baking pan.
