Ingredients

  • 1 (30-ounce) package frozen hash brown potatoes thawed
  • 1 (12-ounce) package pre-cooked ham steak diced
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1 (10.5-ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 (8-ounce) container sour cream
  • 1/2 cup butter melted
  • salt to taste
  • ground black pepper to taste
  • scallions to taste, sliced, for garnish

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish
  • In a large bowl, stir the hash browns, the ham steak, the cheddar cheese, the onion, the cream of chicken soup, the sour cream, the butter, the salt, and the pepper.
  • Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and cover it with aluminum foil.
  • Bake the casserole until it is bubbly and the cheese has melted, about 45 minutes-1 hour.
  • Remove the foil and continue to bake until brown, about 15 more minutes.
  • Transfer from the oven, top with the scallions, and serve.
