Ingredients
- olive oil to taste
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 cup yellow onion diced
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 cup light brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 8 hamburger buns
- 1/2 cup mozzarella and cheddar cheese shredded
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.
- Add olive oil to a frying pan, then add the ground beef and sauté until the meat is no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes. While the beef cooks, add the diced onions to the same pan. Drain the excess grease.
- Pour the ketchup, the Worcestershire sauce, the brown sugar, and the onion powder into a medium mixing bowl. Stir well.
- Add the ketchup mixture to the pan with the ground beef and stir until all of the meat is coated in the sauce.
- Place the hamburger buns in muffin tins, pressing them down gently to form cups.
- Spoon the ground beef mixture into the cups.
- Sprinkle the cheese on top of the ground beef mixture.
- Bake the cups until the cheese is completely melted, about 6-8 minutes.
- Transfer the muffin tins from the oven and carefully lift the Sloppy Cups out of the pan.
- Serve.
