Ingredients

  • 1 (14.25-15.25-ounce) box white cake mix plus the ingredients called for on the package
  • 1 cup water boiling
  • 1 (3-ounce) package strawberry-flavored gelatin
  • 1 (8-ounce) container whipped topping thawed
  • 12 fresh strawberries halved

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Coat a 9x13-inch baking pan with cooking spray.
  • Prepare the white cake mix batter according to the package directions.
  • Transfer the batter to the prepared baking pan, spreading it out evenly.
  • Bake until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean, about 28-32.
  • Transfer the baking pan to a wire rack to cool for 20 minutes.
  • In a medium bowl, add the boiling water and the gelatin and stir until the gelatin is completely dissolved.
  • Using the bottom of a wooden spoon or a wooden skewer, poke holes all over the cake.
  • Carefully pour the gelatin mixture evenly over the top of the cake.
  • Allow the cake to cool completely.
  • Spread the whipped topping evenly over the cake.
  • Sprinkle the strawberry halves over the whipped topping layer.
  • Serve.
