Ingredients

For the sliders:

  • 2 tablespoons bacon grease or olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1/2 medium yellow onion sliced
  • 2 ounces fresh mushrooms minced
  • 1/2 large green bell pepper sliced
  • 1 pound sirloin steak thinly sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 12 Hawaiian rolls
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 6 slices provolone cheese
  • 3/4 cup cheese spread

For the garlic butter:

  • 3 tablespoons salted butter melted
  • 1/4 teaspoon roasted garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon Italian parsley plus more to taste, minced

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Grease a baking dish or baking sheet.
  • Heat the bacon grease in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the garlic, the onion, the mushrooms, and the bell peppers to the grease and cook until the veggies are softened, about 10 minutes.
  • Set the veggie mixture aside.
  • Add the steak, the salt, the pepper, the paprika, and the Worcestershire sauce to the same skillet and cook until the meat is almost done, about 4 minutes.
  • Add the veggie mixture to the meat mixture and simmer, while stirring, until the meat is fully cooked, about 1-2 minutes.
  • Slice the full sheet of Hawaiin rolls in half (the rolls should not be separated).
  • Place the bottom half of the rolls in the prepared baking dish.
  • Spread the mayonnaise on the bottom roll layer.
  • Add a layer of the provolone cheese to the mayonnaise layer.
  • Add the meat and the vegetables in an even layer atop the cheese, making the pile as high as desired.
  • Add a dollop of the cheese spread to each slider.
  • Add the top layer of the rolls.
  • Mix the melted butter, the roasted garlic powder, and the minced parsley together.
  • Brush the tops of the rolls with the garlic butter and garnish each top with the remaining parsley.
  • Cover the rolls with aluminum foil and bake until the cheese has melted, about 10-15 minutes.
  • Uncover and bake until the tops of the buns are toasted, about 5-10 minutes.
  • Serve warm.
