What a cute name for a great treat, right?! Crunchies are as audible and delicious as the name suggests. They are sweet and buttery, with a touch of tropical goodness thanks to the coconut baked right in! They're so quick and easy to make, you'll wonder how you haven't had them before. Crunch into these Crunchies and get to munching!
Ingredients
- 7/8 cup butter
- 1 tablespoon golden syrup
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup flaked coconut
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup white sugar
- 2 cups rolled oats
Directions
Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 2 -In a large saucepan, combine the butter and the golden syrup and bring to a boil.
Step 3 -Add the baking soda to the butter-syrup mixture and stir until the mixture becomes frothy.
Step 4 -Add the flaked coconut, the flour, the sugar, and the oats and stir well.
Step 5 -Lightly press the oat mixture into a large baking tray.
Step 6 -Bake the crunchies for 15 minutes.
Step 7 -Cool the crunchies and cut them into serving-size bars.
Step 8 -Serve.
