That's right, bask in the applause! Everyone loves the Crowd-Pleaser Casserole! It's in the name, after all! Tender, fluffy potatoes, garden-fresh broccoli, and succulent ham all enjoy a swim in a creamy mushroom sauce and a melty cheese topping; there's literally nothing to hate and everything to love about this Crowd-Pleaser Casserole. All you need now is a crowd! Thankfully, the delightful scent alone should get everyone to the table!
Ingredients
- 4 medium baking potatoes, peeled and chopped
- 3 cups fresh broccoli florets
- 3/4 pound ham, chopped
- 2 green onions, sliced, plus more, to taste, for garnish
- 1 (16-ounce) container sour cream
- 1 (10.75-ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
- 2 cups Swiss cheese, shredded, divided
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 teaspoon dried dill
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
Directions
Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
Step 2 -Spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
Step 3 -In a large bowl, stir together the potatoes, the broccoli, the ham, 2 of the sliced green onions, the sour cream, the cream of mushroom soup, 1 1/2 cups of the cheese, the water, the dill, the salt, and the pepper.
Step 4 -Pour the mixture into the prepared pan.
Step 5 -Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 1 hour.
Step 6 -Uncover and sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.
Step 7 -Bake until the cheese has melted, about 15 minutes.
Step 8 -Let the casserole stand for 10 minutes.
Step 9 -Serve garnished with the extra green onions.
